Free Business Card Scanner
Snap a business card or event badge. Check the details. Save. The person lands in your follow-up list, not your camera roll.
Free plan. No credit card. No App Store download.
My MASH Card is a free business card scanner that does more than read the card. Take a photo of a paper business card or a printed event badge, check the name, email, phone, company, title, and website it pulls out, and save. The person becomes a contact with a follow-up status, the place you met, and your notes attached. Scanning is included on the free plan.
The stack of cards problem
You come home from an event with a stack of cards. Maybe you scan them into an app. Now they’re contacts. That’s it.
No note on where you met. No reminder to reach out. They sit there until you forget who half of them are.
Most scanner apps solve the typing. The typing was never the problem. The follow-up was.
How the scanner works
1. Snap it
Take a photo of a paper business card or a printed event badge. Or upload one from your camera roll.
2. Check it
We pull out the name, email, phone, company, title, and website. Fix anything that’s off before you save. Add where you met and a quick note while it’s fresh.
3. Follow up
The contact lands in your Lead Feed as New. It stays in front of you until you reach out.
Double-check what we pulled from the image, then save.
What happens after the scan
This is the part scan-only apps skip. A scanned card in My MASH Card isn’t a dead entry in your address book. It’s a contact with a status, a reason you met, and a nudge to do something about it.
| Feature | What it does | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Where you met and notes | Added at the moment you scan, while you still remember the conversation. | Free |
| Follow-up status | Every scan starts as New and moves through Followed Up, In Conversation, and Closed. | Free |
| Event tagging | Set an event as active before you walk in, and your scans get tagged with it. | Free |
| Save to Phone | Send a scanned contact to your phone’s address book as a standard contact file. | Free |
| Reminders | In-app reminders on the free plan. Email reminders on Pro. | Free + Pro |
| CRM and Google Sheets sync | Scans sync automatically to NinjaPipe, DealDrive, Google Sheets, or a webhook once you connect one. | Pro |
Event badges: what it reads and what it doesn’t
It reads what’s printed on the badge. Name, company, title, and anything else in plain text.
It doesn’t read the organizer’s QR code or barcode. Those codes are locked to the event’s own lead retrieval system. If a badge only prints a name and a company, that’s what you get. Fill in the rest from the conversation before you save.
Working a booth? Put your own card’s QR code on the table too. People who scan it can share their details with you directly, email and phone included. See how that works at events.
No App Store download
My MASH Card runs in your phone’s browser. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app.
- iPhone: open it in Safari, tap Share, then tap Add to Home Screen.
- Android: open your browser menu and tap Install app or Add to Home Screen.
Best for
- People who come home from events with a pocket full of cards
- Salespeople who meet buyers in person and need the context to stick
- Service businesses collecting cards at home shows, trade shows, and chamber mixers
- Anyone who scanned cards into an app once and never looked at them again
Not best for
- Exhibitors who need to read the event’s encoded badge QR codes. Use the organizer’s lead retrieval app for that.
- Bulk-digitizing a box of old cards. Each scan is one card, reviewed before it saves.
FAQs
Is the business card scanner free?
Yes. Scanning paper business cards and event badges is included on the free plan. Pro adds CRM and Google Sheets sync, email reminders, and multiple cards.
Do I need to download an app?
No. My MASH Card runs in your phone’s browser on iPhone and Android. Add it to your home screen if you want it one tap away.
Does it read the QR code on an event badge?
No. It reads the text printed on the badge. Organizer QR codes and barcodes are tied to the event’s own lead retrieval system, so if a badge only prints a name and company, that’s what you’ll get.
What if the scan gets something wrong?
You see everything it pulled before anything saves. Edit any field, add what’s missing, then save.
Can scanned contacts go to my CRM or Google Sheets?
Yes, on Pro. Connect NinjaPipe, DealDrive, Google Sheets, or a webhook and new scans sync automatically.
Does it work offline?
No. The card is read on our servers, so you need a connection to scan. If you’re somewhere without signal, take the photo anyway and upload it from your camera roll later.
